Chery was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in 1989 when his parents migrated permanently to the US. His father & mother made their way to the city of Lawrence, MA, where they raised him and his younger brother. Chery graduated from the Greater Lawrence Vocational High School and went into the Army National Guard where he served for 8 years attaining the rank of Sergeant E-5. During that time, he also attended Northern Essex Community College and then moved on to UMass Lowell. He is currently a Senior Manager at one of the nation's largest Financial service firms. He is the highest-ranking Latino in the company, overseeing their bi-lingual operations for Spanish-speaking customers. In 2004, Chery gave his life to Jesus and got plugged in: started serving, learning, and growing. Not long after, he met his wife (Samantha) and both felt the call to become Youth Leaders. He Studied at the Latin American Theological Institute and became an ordained elder through the Free Methodist organization. He and Samantha helped plant Grace Point Church in the Greater Lowell area and are using the lessons learned from that process to establish Expansion Ministry in the Merrimack Valley.
